Red Chair Software's Tag Verifier

Having Problems With Rebuilds? Red Chair's Free Solution...

As many people are complaining about their DJ doing rebuilds fairly often, Red Chair Software has released a free to assist in solving this problem. It will scan your music files to verify that their tags are readable. It will identify the files whose tags cannot be read, so that you can either not transfer the files to the DJ or so that you try and fix the tags to make them readable.

Again, the Tag Verifier does not fix the tags, but simply identifies them so that you can know which files will give you problems.

Does it scan the files on my computer's hard drive or my dj? Most of my music isn't on my DJ anymore (I only have a 30gb hard drive with a lot of software installed).

It scans the tracks on your computer, at least I have not found a way to use it to check the tracks on my Karma.

Oh well. At least I don't have a rebuilding issue. I just wanted to clean up my tags.

I know what you mean. I still ran it on mine. At least it verified what I thought I knew. That my tags were fine. The price is certainly right!

all my tags were good, yet every once in a while, I rebuild as well.

It is a bigger issue

Do tags have to be this "clean" when putting them on an iPod?

I have not heard of any tagging issues with the iPod and I do not and have not owned one, but maybe MusicMan can tell us. He is one of the resident experts on it.

Since Red Chair is rogue software he blocks certain IP ranges from accessing his site.
