Exclamation Batter Pack under development for Dell DJ.

Battery Pack for the DJ under Development

The people over at DAPreview have been designing multiple battery packs for mulitple DAPs, including the Nomad Zen/Dell DJ, the same concept as the iPod's Battery Pack. But unlike the iPod's, which retails for $69.99, these packs will be offered for a very resonable $14.99-$19.99. While it won't win any fashion contests, it's for certain to win the heart of DJ owners everywhere with it's price and portability. Check out the official news article for more info!

It's a device where you put in 4 AA batteries, and the DJ runs off of those. But because the DJ doesn't work that way, it charges your internal battery. So yeah, I guess fast charger. I didn't realize there were so many diffrent types of chargers. Hah, if I knew that... then I would have approached this news bit diffrently.

I found quite by accident when I had a DJ that the charger for it also charged my Axim, so I would assume the reverse is true. There are currently already products like this for the Axim, so they should work for the DJ. Question though, other than campers, etc, who would need this for a device which already has such a good battery life?

this isnt targeted at the DJ, more at players that have life closer to 10hrs where it would be easier to lugh this around for charing the the adpter for say a trip or something

I agree, who the heck would need MORE battery life? Maybe if you were off hiking in the woods and couldnt charge it, but for most people this is a completely unnecessary and awkward accessory.

Yep, I can confirm this is true. In fact, the Axim and Ipaq (at least the old version) have the same charging specs. i picked up a charger that looks just like this for my Ipaq and it works on my Axim and DJ. No problems.

How big is this thing anyway?? It looks pretty compact. Just enough room for the 4 AA batteries. Awesome product, but I have to say that I would have a hard time trying to use this thing. The battery life on my DJ is amazing, never fulling ran out of juice yet, but heck, I never got stuck in a desert.

It would be nice where a standard electric outlet isnt available. Like if you went camping and took your DJ with you. You would just need to take a bunch of AA batteries to keep it charged. Or if you travel to another country...You wouldnt have to buy an adapter to plug it into an outlet.

The one I posted before, the one from radioshack, I think it's autovolt..and will work whether it's 220 or 120. Also if you haven't noticed, it has an outlet (or whatever you call that) that you can use to charge your DJ, whether it's connected to a power outlet or not.
