Exclamation Computer does not detect DJJ

Can anyone please help!!!!

I just purchased a used Dell DJ 15GB and I am having problems trying to get my computer to recognize the darn thing. I switched cables, switched ports, reinstalled Dell DJ drivers, USB drivers and the whole shot. I have turned this website upside down looking for an answer.

Does anyone have any suggestions or answers?

Had problems just like that. Even once in a while, my laptop wouldn't recongize my DJ. Really weird. I just restart my computer. Try closing all unnessary programs when you connect. Try turning the computer on with the DJ connected and powered on (and drivers installed). Try turning the computer on with the DJ connected and powered off. Call customer service if nothing at all works, and just get a replacement or refund.

Oh, and did you connect the DJ before finishing installing the drivers. You're not supposed to connect the DJ until everything has been installed.

Try hitting the manual reset switch on your DDJ (stick a paper clid end into the tiny hole on the side). That worked for me when I had a similar problem. It just restarts the system, rather than suspending it like the power button. All HDD contents will remain intact.

Lately, DJ Explorer has not been working. I connect my DJ, and the computer detects it just fine. When I start up DJ Explorer, it looks ok, shows that the DJ is connected. But, when I double click on the DJ, nothing happens. My DJ still works with Musicmatch and WMP, but I prefer to use DJ Explorer. Any suggestions?

I have tried everything that you guys suggested short of calling Dell.

Are there any other suggestions that anyone can offer before I call these people?

Oh yeah. For some strange reason, nothing ever happens when you click on the DJ icon. Here is how to solve the problem: Open my Computer. Click on the Folder button which is right next to the search button (right under Tools/Help in the Standard toolbar). Now a window panel should pop up on the left hand side of the My computer Window. (Shortcut: Windows key + E) Click Dell DJ Explorer. And you should get in.

Just call. If you did everything that you can think of and our suggestions didn't help, you might have just had recieved a defective DJ and there's nothing anyone can do. Dell will give you a replacement.

Well, if you never had this problem to begin with, then not doing anything at all would help too.

Oh, just had another idea. Try plugging your DJ to your computer and doing the reset...
