Irock 400w FM Transmitter

Yesterday I decided to go out and buy an FM transmitter for my car since I decided that it's just not worth it to go and buy a new head unit.

I was pretty skeptical since I've heard many bad things about the quality of fm transmitters.

Anyway, I ended up at circuit city and bought the Irock 400w FM transmitter:

So far I've been very impressed. Maybe I'm half-deaf or something but the sound quality is very good (in my opinion) for an fm transmitter. I was pleasantly surprised at the frequency response of the unit. While the quality is not that of an aux input, I think it is good enough for anyone who wants their Dell DJ in their car without having to buy a head unit and sacrificing price and audio quality at the same time.

I haven't used fm transmitters in the past, so maybe this is wrong, but it seems like the signal from the unit is pretty powerful. Just to test, I set it on one of the frequencies in which there was already a radio station in my area, and to my surprise when I turned the irock on it broadcast the signal with hardly any noticeable static. In other words, for me, when I used it on a frequency without a radio station it was perfectly clear without any static.

Likes:
Sound Quality (for a fm transmitter)
Power Adapter (no batteries although you can use them if u want)
Cost
Design

Dislikes:
Only four frequencies

So for me at least, this has been a very good purchase. I can listen to my DJ in my car without paying a lot and not really sacrificing sound quality. I would personally recommend this product (9/10), but once again it seems like using an fm transmitter would change from person to person depending on the location and environment.

If you have any questions, just feel free to ask.

i live in the middle of columbus ohio, so yeah it's pretty urban. I don't know how dense the stations are in the area, but i guess u can maybe tell by the location.
