Review comparing Sony EX71SL vs. Apple iPod in-ear headphones
I've been reading more and more about the Sony EX71SL on the Web these days. This headphone has also been a popular choice among DJ owners. Here is another review comparing them to Apple's iPod in-ear headphones.

If you mean the e3's, then they form to my ear easily. However, I use the foam plugs. I could not get a good seal with the shure rubber plugs. I pinch the foammies, pull up on my upper ear, and insert. Then I let go of my ear and let the foam fill my ear cannal and wow, awesome fit, feel and sound. If anyone is interested in them, I got a great deal from a link at ipodlounge.com.

How well do the Sony EX71SLs work with activities such as biking or running? Before anyone gives the safety speech...Treadmill and stationary bike in the gym.

I had no problem getting a good fit/seal with the sony's. I wish I could duplicate it using the rubber plugs with the shure's.

I do not like using them while exercising. They seal off your ears and you get a "boom boom boom" effect with every step you take, and it can become very annoying. It is not a big deal when walking. When I run/bike I just use my stock dj/ipod phones.

I got them for $135 from a link at ipodlounge.com. There is a link on their frontpage news (you may have to go back a week or two in the archive).

A buck thirty five is to steep for me for cans for the DJ. But I like the Sonys a lot (there were about $30 shipped on Amazon). But get the 51 model, not the 71's. The 71's are too long with the extension (the if you don't use it it's too short).

I have the 51's, the short regular cord is the way to go. These headphones are great. Everytime I listen to my old music for the first time, I'm amazed by the bass that i've never heard (through the old dell phones).
