To transfer 12GB of music using USB 2.0 to my DJ it takes ~45 minutes. This is using Dudebox. Just giving some benchmark numbers....

I just got a usb 2.0 card a couple of weeks ago. It is amazing how fast it is. It blows usb 1.0 away.

Well USB1.1 is what, 12Mbit/sec where as USB2 is 480. It's a big leap. Currently I have an external USB2 setup w/ CDRW-DVD combo drive and an ATA-100 120gb drive, I don't really notice a difference between the externals and my internals.

I'm sure MM would come in and talk about Firewire 4xx/8xx but I believe he left the forums.

I've been hearing that the sync option on MM is slow, but thats what I used, and it took, as I said before, 5 minutes! I've downloaded Dudebox (trial) and I don't see whats so good about it (I know its only the trial) but I think that DJ Explorer is easier to use than Dudebox!

USB 1.1 has a transfer rate of 0.86MB per second.
USB 2.0 has a transfer rate of 2.4MB per second.

To fill up your 15GB DJ:
Using USB 1.1, it will take approximately 5 hours.
Using USB 2.0, it will take about 1.75 hours.

To fill up your 20GB DJ:
Using USB 1.1, it would take 7 hours.
Using USB 2.0, it would take about 2.3 hours

Is that crazy or what??
