The JAM JACKET, which comes in three different colors: white, aqua, and graphite, offers NO screen protection. I would want screen protection before anything else. So if you do purchase a Jam Jacket, get a PDA screen protector or buy the gagdet shield DJ screen protector's (http://www.gadgetshield.com/prod03.htm)
The Jam Jacket also make the DJ too bulky to fit in a Belkin Desktop Stand http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProd...oduct_Id=159716 or Belkin Powered Desktop Stand http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProd...oduct_Id=162552. Of course, every case would make the DJ too bulky to fit in this stands, but it's really hard to take off the Jam Jacket. However, the Jam Jacket looks REALLY cool, and is not too bulky compared to the rest of the cases. It's rubber sides makes it really hard to slip on tables, but then also makes it hard to get in and out of your pockets. I personally do not have one, but I tried to find the perfect case for my DJ and did a lot of research on the different cases. While I no longer have my DJ, here is my input on the two cases I had. Remember, my opinion only.
The Jam Jacket is fine, although difficult to remove. I have heard that if you sprinkle it with baby powder, then shake it off real well it will go on and come off easier. Cons? No screen protector, and it recesses the scroll wheel to a point where I found it more difficult to use. Also the DJ will no longer fit into any of the Belkin cradles with the Jam Jacket on. The Belkin Nylon Blue Sports Case is also a decent case. But it leaves the top of the DJ, where all the connectors are, totally exposed. I did not care for that at all. The DJ fit snugly without any danger of falling out. It was still easy to remove from the case. It has a clear screen protector with a cutout for the scroll wheel only (if I remember correctly) and did not inhibit use of any of the buttons. But it was bulkier than I liked and you still had to remove it from the case to use any of the Belkin cradles. I think all the cases are too expensive from Dell and are not readily available elsewhere. Yet. That will probably change with time as more and more of the DJ's hit the population.

All cases will make the DJ too bulky for the Belkin cradles. If you want to save money, you could go to belkin.com with the 50% coupon or you can buy screen protectors, because screens would be my main worry. Also buying cases from belkin with the coupon would allevate the high case prices.
Personally, I wouldn't put any baby power on my DJ... it might damage the DJ. Also I heard that a person got some debris stuck under the DJ's screen. Baby powder is very fine (like sand)... The Jam jacket also leaves the top slightly exposed. Good for connecting, Bad for protection. The hump on the scroll wheel is annoying as hell. I was pretty happy with my Belkin Nylon Blue Sports Case. The top is exposed, but then I don't think the top will be scratched. It doesn't look as nice is it does on the site but it offers quality protection, it definately has a screen protector, which is the most important features of a case in my opinion. All in all, it's better to spend money protecting your investment, but the only thing I would worry about is the screen. Unless you are a "DJ abuser", your DJ should be safe. Not hardcore biking/rock climbing/catch/dodge ball with the DJ. __________________

Of the cases I have seen and used, the Jam jacket adds the least bulk. You almost don't notice that it is there. It also makes the DJ more 'grippy'. The scroll wheel annoyance that I mentioned may be gotten around by cutting that area of the jacket out. Shouldn't be too hard.
I never said put baby powder on the DJ. I said that you would apply the baby powder to the Jam Jacket then clean it off before applying it to the DJ. I agree that the thought of baby powder and any DAP makes me nervous, but I did say that I had 'heard' that this was one way around the tight fit. I am not advocating doing it at all. I probably should have been more clear about that when I mentioned it. But I believe that the sharing of any and all information is good for everyone and can lead to a better solution as long as it is properly thought out.

My bro had an old first gen ipod belkin case lying around.I tried fitting it on the dj and it works perfectly. It adds very little bulk and the hole for the ipod scroll wheel is perfectly cut out to allow access to all the dj buttons including the dj scroll wheel. The top is all covered except for a clip that can be unhooked to plug in via usb.The side buttons are still covered with the plastic covering but you can push the buttons through the case and it's not a problem at all.All and all it's a pretty solid case for my needs cause it coveris almost the entire dj including the screen but adds almost no bulk so it fits well in my pockets with my cell, keys and wallet.
