AllOfMp3

Anyone have experience with AllOfMp3 downloads? I read all the stuff on the site. Seems like a reasonable deal to me. Any problems? Can you download to your My Mucic library and transfer to the DJ? Any comments are appreciated.

I payed for 1 month unlimited downloads (1000 actually) {now its no longer available}...I got my 1000 songs in less then 3 days. Then bought a 4 month pack, 4000 songs, and used another 3500 in the next week. Downloads were cap'd at 30kbps now it's 300kps so you can grab more quicker.

I love the site...all my Mp3s now come from it...their tagging is flawless and out of my 3500+ songs only 2-3 were messed up...I wrote to them and got a refund.

Make sure you download their mp3 explorer, it speeds the process of getting mp3s up.

Also, I used the one time CC # because I don't fully trust the site with my CC #.

I've had no problems with the site. I love the fact that you can choose between 4 different types of files (MP3, WMA, ACC, OOG) with all the different bite rates.

If you do download from AllOfMp3 just add them to your "Music Library"

It certainly seems to be popular as I keep getting 'server busy' messages. They now encode files into AAC so I'll be looking into it more when I can.

I tried it last night. Worked pretty well, but when the tracks ended up in my MM Library there was no album name not track number. I could delect the track# in the file, but MM didn't. Does the Explorer do the tagging (I didn't download that)? Supertagging looked up most of them, I did the rest myself. They transferred to the DJ fine after tagging. And they say they do AAC now MusicMan. Good selection too.

I've only used the explorer...my tags come out perfectly. I have never had a rebuild issue with my Dell so I assume it is partially because my tags are flawless.

I am not sure if I will use their sevice once my 4 month unlimited use is up.

Seems like the way they do it now is you pay by the Mb. after opening an account (visa or paypal to pay with). You pay $10-20 in advance.

Yes I understand...it's not for me. I've downloaded about 17 GBs worth for $65 (and I have another 400 songs left to download)...now that would cost $170....too much IMO.

Nah, it wouldn't be that much, At a 128 bitrate it's like 50 cents a CD.

I've been using allofmp3 for a while. The greatest feature of this site is the ability to pick the encoder/format/bitrate of your choice. I download all of my mp3's using the Lame -alt preset standard. I recommend using the site before the RIAA can find grounds to go after it.

I was checking out the site and I can't figure out what vip means. Almost all the files say that. Are you automatically a vip just by buying them? I don't get it.

You're a VIP if you register and pay in advance a certain amount to purchase music from them. I've used the site since yesterday and have downloaded 4 cds. At first they did not have the complete tags (I corrected them using MusicMatch), today I downloaded their Explorer option and the tags were better, but came without track numbers. I used MM "supertag" and that did the trick. The cd burned and I transferred it to my DJ no problem (using Dudebox). I still haven't figured out the track tag deal yet but for the price they are charging I can justify the extra hassle.

17 GB is 17000 MB....
$0.01 per MB = $170

Unless my math is wrong.

Thumbs up

I just started using it yesterday after seeing this thread. It is very ! I put $10 on my account and so far I have downloaded 11 full CDs at 192 bitrate (mp3) and the best thing...I still have $3.099 left! I was able to find and download most of the music that I couldn't find on Musicmatch, Napster, or iTunes (In Flames, Soilwork, and Passenger.) I am very satisfied. The downloads are fast and the tags have been perfect for me so far except for the "genre" which is no big deal and is very easy to fix. I use the "allofmp3 Explorer" which can be downloaded from the site for free to download...it is much easier and faster than clicking the individual file links on the website once they have been encoded. I am on a mission to use up the rest of my money and get some more awesome music!

If anyone is able to figure out the logic with how the "Genre" field is determined please let people in the music industry know along with the rest of us. I'm a little confussed as to how Stabbing Westward's "Darkest Days" album was an "electronic" album and how VH's Balance was "pop"
