Embarassing moments

Here's another one - what guilty pleasures do you have lurking in the deepest recesses of your dj? What's the one disc / tune you've loaded that you just won't show your friends? For me, I'll admit that I let a little Neil Diamond slip into my dj. I blame my parents for subjecting me to Neil at an all too impressionable age. The catchy tunes, they haunt me. But I guess it could have been worse - my parents could have been fans of that other Neil. . . Sedaka that is.

Manowar ... all of Kings of Metal, and a few miscellaneous tracks. But I'm not too embarassed about it, really. There's not any music that I'm "embarassed" to listen to.

Bette Midler - Wind Beneath My Wings. It's not that it's embarassing but people give you strange looks when that song follows something like Stabbing Westward's Drug Store. But I know like the rest of you that you like the song too.

I stole my brothers mp3 CDs and loaded them all into the DJ, and for some resion there was an Asia song on there and my friend found it, so i deletred it. Its not really that embarising though...

On another account though there was one whos genra was called Porn Grove, and it was an alternative rock song. That was odd when my teacher stubled accross it while looking at the features.

Well, all my friends know me as the metalhead. But I can't help but have some Blink-182, Coldplay, The Cure, and various New Wave artists on my DJ.

My guilty pleasure is Kylie Minogue. Egad. It's funny seeing her name next to all the heavier and obscure stuff I have, but damn, her songs can have some catchy hooks.

Most people who go through my DJ usually do a double take (complete with sound fx) when they see her name.

I almost put my Best of the Village People CD on my computer, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. I might anyway though. And I have to admit I have one britney track...sigh...but my strong collection of Incubus maintains my pride. When I reformatted recently I missed my music folder while backing up. It was a pain to rerip all my CDs and download random songs (but iTunes+MyTunes on a college LAN solves that) but my real worry was replacing my highly cherished, extremely hard to find, personally edited Incubus acoustic tracks. Good thing I burned em on a CD. Woot.

[edit] Oh yeah, I also have some tracks from the 1999 Grammy Nominees CD.

And, for the record, "Summer Lovin'" is definitely the front runner right now
